The whole score seems like one long droning song made up of a lot of synths and “Inception like” blasts.

The Battleship score was a huge disappointment. The whole soundtrack seems like one long droning song. Most of the score is driven by synthesizers, not orchestra.
The Battleship score is filled with loud blasts of sound, similar to the “sound blasts” on the Inception score. When listening to the Battleship soundtrack by itself it began to get boring after only the first couple songs. There isn’t much difference between the songs, which makes the score seem like one long song with a few minor transitions. After about halfway through the album I kept checking back to see how much longer it would be before the end, because I just wanted it to end.
Steve Jablonsky really disappointed me with this score. I expected going into this review that I might be disappointed by hearing a rearranged copy of Jablonsky’s “Transformers” compositions, but what I actually heard was worse. I would rather have heard some unoriginal songs that sounded exactly like “Transformers” than what I actually heard.
One song that I did enjoy is:
